Notes
- Punctuality is measured at departure from the first station, at each intermediate station where the time is recorded and at arrival at the last. A train counts as on time at a stop if it arrives early or less than one minute late. Times are recorded at around 90% of station stops.
- Stops a train missed because it was cancelled in full or in part are left out: cancellations are measured separately.
- The number of stops recorded rose sharply between April 2018 and March 2019, as more trains ran and more stations were recorded. The ORR says this partly explains the rise in these measures at that time.
- Fewer trains ran during the COVID-19 lockdowns from March 2020.
- Figures for the current financial year are provisional.
- For a longer series, from 1997, see Trains arriving within 5 or 10 minutes, which uses the older Public Performance Measure.
